These are some early concepts from a Kumandran (back then Makaran) Culture Guide I put together for Raya and the Last Dragon. While researching Southeast Asia it became very clear that so much of the culture, architecture, clothing and food are steeped in strong spiritual beliefs. To bring that depth and respect to the world of Kumandra I tried to create a culture based around the dragon, the gem and the five clans.
